"I'm Jeik (pronounced "Jake'')! Nice to meet you. I graduated high honors with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and completed a Master's of Biomedical Sciences (M.S.) from Eastern Virginia Medical School. I am now currently in medical school (MD Class of 2027). I've always loved helping people learn, especially in the sciences, and with a B.S. and M.S. specialized in the sciences (Anatomy, Biochemistry, Organ systems [including skin, muscle, bone, GI, clinical presentations]), I feel very well prepared to continue my passion and help you ace your exams and ultimately help you achieve your goals!

In terms of my experiences, I served as a college tutor for various classes (e.g., intro biology, chemistry, psychology classes) at my undergraduate institution while enrolled, and additionally served as a teaching assistant for a Human Systems Physiology class in college. During these experiences, I primarily helped individuals on a one-on-one basis. In terms of my teaching approach, I like to hear the student or parent out first in terms of what the student needs help on the most. Then, I like to run the student through a teaching lesson and relevant practice questions to test their knowledge (and also assign/suggest some resources to look over after the tutoring session)! This concise yet integrated approach testing a student's knowledge is what I found to be the most effective! In order to make this most efficient, a student would ideally send me a message about what specific topics they need help on so I can maximize the time we have during tutoring!
