"Hello! I'm Nathan, a recent high school graduate and an incoming UC Davis student as an Animal Science major. I graduated as valedictorian of my class and have earned multiple academic awards and distinctions throughout my high school career. I am also a UCLA, UCSD, and UCD admit and I have also been accepted to some private universities. I have taken the SAT and ACT, but I specialize more in ACT as that is the test I worked with the most. I scored a 34 on the ACT English section and a perfect 36 on the ACT Reading section (34 on ACT Science). I also scored a 5 on the AP English Language and Composition Exam and a 4 on the AP Biology Exam.

While I have not yet tutored in a formal setting where payment is involved, I have had tutoring experience by helping out my peers throughout elementary, middle school, and high school. Throughout my 4 years of high school, I have tutored my peers, as well as other students, during lunch, after school, and on calls with anything they were struggling with. I focused more on asking them questions and guiding them towards the right answer rather than handing them the solution to their questions. I have found out that letting the student find the right answer comes with the most benefits. I also volunteered to help out elementary students who required some extra help when it came to English related subjects.

My informal tutoring experience has provided me with certain qualities that are required when it comes to teaching students. I have become more patient, flexible, and especially more encouraging when I tutor students who need help.
