"My name is Taylor. I have been tutoring students in math since I was a high school student. I received my undergraduate degree in secondary mathematics where I received my teaching certification and interned as a teacher for Statistics and Algebra 2. While in college, I tutored at their tutoring center in anything ranging from Math for college readiness to Calculus 3. Once I graduated with my undergraduate I went to Florida Atlantic University where I received a masters in Mathematics. While getting my masters I tutored at their tutoring center as well. I tutored any math up to calculus 2 and also was a professor teaching calculus 1. After receiving my masters, I became a high school math teacher at Coral Springs charter. I taught Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC. I taught there for 4 years. I taught sophomores, juniors, and seniors.
I am now a stay at home mom looking to make some extra income. I can tutor a range of different subjects in math. When I was getting my masters in math I understood what it felt like to be behind and not understand a math problem. I felt like I was not equipped to pursue a masters in mathematics, but pushed through and received tutoring and eventually graduated with my masters. This shaped the way I teach and tutor students. To know what’s it like to feel “lost” or like the teacher is moving “too fast” for you to keep up. I have learned to slow down and have patience with my students. If one way doesn’t make sense, I find a different method to show them how to solve the same problem. There is usually more than one way to do a math problem. I love math, but I love seeing a student’s face light up when a math problem has finally clicked for them even more. I love hearing the stories of how they received the highest grade they’ve ever gotten on a math test. I have a passion for math and seeing students understand it and I think I can be a great fit for you!
