"One of the first definitions of "science" that many of us learn in "the study and exploration of the world around us," but as we reach high school it can begin to feel less like a study and more like memorization. My goal as a teacher and tutor is to encourage my students to engage with the learning process and understand the "why" behind the lessons.
I taught a variety of science subjects to students from diverse educational backgrounds. My students often shared their appreciation of how I went beyond simply presenting a lesson to teaching them how to take notes, search for key words, decipher test questions, and encourage critical thinking to help think through problems if an answer is just out of their reach.
My professional experience includes:
