"Hi, I'm Grace! I am a current student at Hofstra University, with a BS/MS in Physician Assistant Studies. I graduated high school with a 4.3 GPA, highest honors, and recognition as an AP Scholar with Distinction. While in high school I was heavily involved in a wide variety of activities; I was a student athlete, musician, and active member of national honor society, student government, and speech and debate. I was able to be successful and involved by gaining the skills of adaptability, problem solving, and organization early on. And these are the skills that I pass on to my students in order to help them succeed in their current, and future, classes.

I have extensively researched the best note taking strategies and innovation tactics to help students better understand the material they are learning and retain it in the long term. Not only do I teach subject matter, but I also teach problem solving skills and encourage students to begin questioning the world around them differently. I prepare for each lesson by compiling both notes and example problems into a visually stimulating format that allows for deeper processing. I also like to keep it fun and creative, because boring teaching does not foster learning! After each lesson I will follow up with both the student and the parent, providing an outline of what was achieved in the lesson and extra practice activities for individual practice.

While I prefer tutoring algebra and chemistry, I also tutor biology, literature, and English language.
