"My academic background includes two law degrees: Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and Master of Laws (LL.M). I also earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in criminal justice from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and thereafter attended Michigan State University (MSU) where I obtained the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in criminal justice.

I have been teaching college courses full/part time and online/on-ground for over 27 years. I have also served in various capacities in the criminal justice system. Some of these positions include “Probation/Parole Officer” for the state of Michigan, “Investigator” for the 30th Circuit Court of State of Michigan, and “Offender Population Coordinator” (OPC) for Ingham County, MI. Among other things, the OPC coordinated the county’s incarcerated offender population on a daily basis with other criminal justice agencies and also identified and facilitated timely utilization of alternatives to incarceration as a way of alleviating jail overcrowding. I have also worked briefly in the juvenile justice system.

My teaching philosophy focuses on student success, student satisfaction and student retention.
