"Since I was a little girl, I knew I was going to be a teacher. I used to play in my bedroom imagining a large classroom with lots of children. I loved the idea of sharing with others my knowledge and expanding their horizons about the world. Through the years my dream came true and I graduated with an education degree in Modern Languages on May of 1998.

For the past twenty five years, I have been working with groups of all ages (pre-school, elementary, middle, high school and adults) and nationalities (Asian, Hispanic, African and Arab). These experiences have enriched my professional life. It has given me the ability to adapt through different situations, needs, and interest.

In May 2004, I finished a Masters of Arts in TESOL at Greensboro College. This master has given me the tools to teach in a bilingual environment and plan according to my student’s needs and skills. I like to use different and motivating strategies such as 3 L's framework, reading aloud, paired work, centers, games and songs that develop listening, oral, comprehension and oral skills. Furthermore, these strategies encourage my students to feel successful and are therefore more eager to learn.

Why me? Because I love what I do and I enjoy learning everyday. A while ago, I read this beautiful quote by an unknown author that says “teaching is watching caterpillars turn into butterflies”. Day by day, I see more butterflies around me.
