"My teaching philosophy has always been to meet students where you're at in your studies and break down troublesome concepts into fundamentals and relate them to your own goals and interests. As a tutor, it is my job to inspire your confidence in your abilities and give you the tools to succeed. I tutored coursework in History, Finance, Accounting, Economics, and Math through Calculus I during my time in college, and it was so rewarding that I wanted to continue to share the gift of knowledge with as many people as I can.

I received a B.S. in Finance and a Minor in Economics from Michigan Technological University, an engineering university located in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. My education there allowed me to gain a solid grounding in statistics and quantitative finance, while also exposing me to hands-on portfolio management and high tech entrepreneurship through interfacing with engineers and programmers. I used my education to start a biotech company in computational chemistry with a number of other alumni, where I act as the CFO. I'm an avid reader and history buff, continuously learn about politics and philosophy, and I'm a studio musician and active music producer.

I hold myself to very high standards and will do the same for you. I seek feedback after my lessons, and if you're not completely satisfied with my work, I will not bill you for my time. Depending on the frequency, duration, and expectations of the tutoring, I will provide homework, skill assessments, and periodic progress reporting at your request. I offer a free 30-minute Skype or phone consultation to establish learning goals if necessary, as long as your payment information is on file on Wyzant's platform.

Due to the nature of my work, my days are often fully scheduled before they begin, but I try to remain flexible. I have a strict 8 hour cancellation window but I always provide the opportunity to schedule make-up lessons until the start of the original lesson.
