"I earned three undergraduate degrees (BA) in history, journalism, and liberal arts, and went on to a PhD in ancient/medieval history at the University of Edinburgh. My studies included several liberal arts practicals in English, philosophy, art history, and languages. PhD students are often required to have a sub-focus of their choosing outside of their specialty, and mine is the American Revolution.
I have worked in academia since 2010 as an adjunct and assistant at several colleges and universities. I currently also assist high school students in speech and debate as that was how I paid for my own undergraduate college education on a scholarship. I won gold medals in both high school and college on state and national levels. I operate and maintain a website and social media presence for both academic and journalistic purposes.
