"Hi there! I’m currently an honors student at Virginia Commonwealth University, majoring in Bioinformatics with a concentration in biological/genomic sciences and a double minor in Chemistry and Biology. My academic foundation is rooted in the life sciences, where I’ve taken rigorous coursework in general biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry, consistently earning A’s and B’s. Before college, I earned an advanced studies diploma, scored 4s on AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and AP Calculus AB, and completed dual enrollment English, history, and government classes with top marks.

Outside of the classroom, I’ve volunteered as a tutor for elementary and middle school students in my community, including children of family friends. Through those experiences, I found that what makes me effective isn’t just how much I know the content, but that I’m able to emotionally connect with students, focusing on helping them feel supported and confident in the work they do. My tutoring style focuses on building strong study habits, sharpening problem solving skills, and developing a mindset that can be applied across subjects.

As someone preparing for dental school, I understand how demanding and competitive science courses can be. My tutoring approach is highly personalized, so I’ll focus on identifying a student’s learning style and then tailoring lessons and strategies that suit their needs. I aim to not just teach content, but to empower students with the tools they need to succeed in other subjects too. I hope to make all my students successful in anything they need help with." less...
