"I’m an Honors Industrial & Systems Engineering student at the University of Florida, and I’ve been tutoring math for about six years. I started in high school, where I helped students in Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, and SAT Math, and I’ve continued tutoring through college as my coursework expanded into statistics, linear algebra, Python, and engineering math. Alongside my studies, I’ve also worked in research labs where I often explained difficult concepts to classmates and new team members, which strengthened my ability to teach clearly and patiently.
My approach to tutoring is friendly, supportive, and highly personalized. I always begin by getting a sense of the student’s baseline level—what they understand well, what’s confusing, and how they naturally think through problems. From there, I focus on rebuilding the fundamentals in a way that makes everything “click,” and then we reinforce those skills through guided practice problems. I’ve found that confidence grows quickly once students realize they can approach a problem step-by-step instead of feeling overwhelmed by the whole thing at once.
I want my students to leave each session not only understanding the material, but also feeling more confident in themselves. I also teach study strategies, problem-solving habits, and ways to stay consistent so that the progress they make with me continues long after our sessions are finished. Helping students build a strong foundation—one that lasts beyond a single test or class—is the most rewarding part of tutoring, and I look forward to helping more students reach that point." less...
