"I am a sophomore at Howard University majoring in psychology and currently maintaining a 4.0 GPA. I graduated high school with a 4.0 GPA as well, and my academic background has given me a strong foundation in writing, reading comprehension, and analytical thinking. As a college student, I am especially well-equipped to tutor high school and college-aged students because I am actively engaging with the same types of coursework, expectations, and academic pressures they face.

Prior to college, I worked as a tutor and mentor for elementary-aged students in a structured, one-on-one and small-group setting. Over a seven-week tutoring period, I supported students in improving their reading proficiency through guided reading, comprehension checks, vocabulary development, and confidence-building strategies. On average, students I worked with demonstrated a 4.5-month improvement in reading proficiency. This experience taught me how to assess individual learning needs, adapt my teaching style, and communicate concepts clearly and patiently.
