"Hi There! I'm Alyson and I am a tutor for History, Literature, and English. I grew up in Pasadena and attended Harvard-Westlake School for high school and Emory University for my undergraduate degree. At Emory, I double majored in Political Science and Media Studies, with a focus on American Politics. I would love to tutor middle and high schoolers, as I know the coursework for those areas best.

Though I have not had private tutoring experience, I spent summers during college as a Teacher's Aid for The Learning Castle. There, I was able to help kids from first grade to third grade with English and Math. I found it so gratifying to help them understand and solve problems, and I would like to continue helping other students in this manner. Additionally, in college I acted as a TA for American Politics, specifically in the realm of Criminal Justice, Civil Liberties, and the Political System. As a TA, I both lectured groups of students and also did one on one office hours.

I currently work in entertainment, specifically in the writers' room for YOU on Netflix. Though I love my current trajectory, I wanted to find a way to both give back to my community and exercise my knowledge of history and politics again. I would love to tutor through Wyzant!" less...
