"I have over 19 years of Chemistry, Geometry, and Physics teaching experience. I spent 18 years teaching AP Chemistry, Geometry, and Physics at an international school in Tokyo before moving to NYC in 2023, where I now teach Chemistry at a private school. My Chemistry teaching approaches are highly effective demonstrated by my consistently high AP scores in my classes (AP chemistry classroom average/global average; 2022– 3.7/2.7, 2021 – 4.2/2.8, 2020 – 3.5/2.7). Many of my students have gone on to major in Chemistry, Engineering, and other STEM subjects at top universities including Stanford, Harvard, MIT, Dartmouth, University of Toronto, KAIST and more. More importantly, I have a deep passion for helping students enjoy Chemistry and bring life to a subject that is sometimes perceived as tedious.

As is any subject, I consider studying Chemistry to be a deeply rewarding learning journey and see my role as helping tailor this journey to meet my students’ unique needs and strengths. When students work with me, I like to start by understanding what their goals are for tutoring and collaborate to set up a plan to ensure that they achieve them. I have experience working with students from all kinds of learning backgrounds including students with learning disabilities and am able to set up learning plans that suit each student’s needs.

In my almost two decades of teaching, I have developed and created my own physical Chemistry learning materials including specialized problem-sets, mock AP exams, labs, and academic projects. Many of my former students continue to use these materials well into their college careers. Students that work with me will have access to these materials to ensure success.
