"Hello! My name is Tim. When I was in college I tutored in the library and found out that I liked it and wanted to become a teacher! This was in 1980. I graduated from the University of California at Riverside in 1983 with a degree in Chemistry and a teacher credential. I have taught science and math in grades 7 through 12. Most recently I taught high school Chemistry and Pre-Engineering.

In the last couple of years I have had experience with online teaching and tutoring. At first it was difficult to get used to working with students that way, but I learned and now I get as much satisfaction out of it as I did when we were in the classroom.

My main subjects to tutor are Chemistry and physical science. I have also tutored recently in Physics, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and AP Chemistry. I really enjoy my subjects, and I believe that science and math are the most important courses a student should take! (I know other teachers believe that about their courses, but of course they are wrong :) ) Join me and we’ll get through your courses together!

Algebra is one of the most important courses you will take because you will need it in high school and college science courses. When I teach or tutor Algebra I want to make sure the student understands the basics, so I explain it so the student understands the underlying concepts, not just the steps to getting the right answer.

Science tries to understand the universe around us. When I teach or tutor science I include real world examples of the concepts, so the student can relate to it on a more personal level." less...
