"I grew up through the public school special education system. I relied on the use of tutors throughout my academic journey until high school. Everyone realizes their academic potential at different times in their lives. For me, it was high school, I elevated myself from a B to A plus student in just a couple of years. I owe a lot of that to tutors and their belief in my capabilities. Now I'm hoping to service those who were once in my shoes. I attended Arizona State University and graduated Summa Cum Laude and was also involved in the Honors College. I graduated with a degree in Political Science and studied several other subjects throughout college.
I have a year's worth of experience tutoring kids primarily with special needs including those with ADHD and those who are on the Autism Spectrum. I welcome the opportunity to tutor general education students as well. I tutored high school students in Algebra, History, English, and Earth Science. My proudest accomplishment is bringing a student from the low 60's into the high 80's by the end of the school year. I tutored via collaboration with my public school teachers. We devised curriculums and lesson plans for students that were struggling. When I tutored, it was primarily one on one in a teacher's office or sometimes small groups up to 3, depending on the situation.
When I tutor, I focus on identifying how a student learns best. Everyone learns differently, and one approach far from suits all. I exercise great patience when working with students and I do my full due diligence before initiating a session with a student. I always request the class curriculum before deciding to work with a student and I always have the student's best interests at heart. I look forward to meeting and working with you!" less...
