"Mrs. A. has been teaching elementary school for 17 years. She has taught grades 1-4 and worked as a building reading specialist/curriculum instructor. Her master’s degree is focused in reading instruction research and best practices. She is certified in many intervention programs including the Wilson Reading System.

As an elementary school teacher of 17 years, Mrs. A. is extremely familiar with the common core standards (especially in Language Arts and Reading) for grades 1-4.

Mrs. A. has the ability to use multiple different assessments to discover where students have phonics deficits and strengths. After assessing, Mrs. A. is skilled in using various programs and materials to create an individualized program of instruction to help students improve their reading skills.

As with phonics, Mrs. A. has an in depth knowledge of English phonology, graphemology and morphology. Helping students understand these concepts improves their spelling skills.
