"I have been teaching and tutoring math since I was in college, and have been doing it professionally for the last 15 years. I tutor mostly high school and college students, but I have tutored 3rd grade thru univesity too. I enjoy math and I have many different ways to approach difficult subjects. I am NOT big on memorizing formulas, although there are a few that DO need to be memorized. I try to approach math from a logical perspective so that the formulas and functions make sense. I am especially fond of Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus (which is basically a review of all math learned to that point, plus a little Calculus thrown in), although I am most experienced with Pre-Algebra and Algebra. And of course there is Geometry, Finite Math, Calculus (I only tutor Calculus 1, aka Calculus AB, at this time), SAT / ACT / CBEST / GED / CSET / CSET / CLEP / TExES math preps (gosh, I like them all). Regardless of the math, my students (and their parents) tell me that I make math fun and easy to understand (even if some still profess to hate it).
