"Hi! If you are researching tutors, then you have already taken a step toward your own success. I am a native English speaker and a classroom French teacher and have always been thrilled to witness language acquisition (in other words, when you start to unlock that puzzle of a new language).

I have been fortunate to travel internationally since my teen years: mostly Europe and Québec but also the French Caribbean, and Egypt. I have spent one summer working on a Kibbutz in Israel and another summer doing homestay with families in Normandy, France.

I am a certified teacher in the state of Georgia. I received my B.A. in French from William Smith College in Geneva NY in 1983. As an undergrad, I received academic (grade based) scholarship every semester and I was named to the Dean's List sophomore through senior years. Study abroad included a semester in Paris covering coursework in art history, theater, and French language at the Alliance Francaise (Raspail). After graduation, I moved to Atlanta GA, where I became certified as a French to English translator through Georgia State University. I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching at Emory University, supported by a fellowship. This prepared me to be an effective classroom teacher for both high school and middle school.

My teaching certificate reads French K-12, ESOL and Social Sciences. I have the Gifted endorsement.
