My academic background includes a Bachelor's in anthropology and English from a top liberal arts college and a Master's degree in Management and Social Innovation from a major research university. My interdisciplinary background has given me the tools to demystify the English language and teach students to adapt to the standards of elite academic writing and critical thinking. My teaching experience is exceptionally broad, encompassing more than five years of international work in Morocco where I taught subjects from Pre-K to K-12, including business English, TOEFL, SAT, and ACT preparation, across various settings (classrooms, small groups, and 1-on-1). Additionally, I have two years of experience providing college essay advising to international students and almost three years leading Honors ELA instruction for middle school virtual academies.

My methodology centers open-ended discussions and student-led discovery. I provide explicit, targeted instruction around necessary grammatical and conceptual frameworks, and I encourage students to do the critical heavy lifting themselves. We master academic writing for challenging research papers and essays, clear reasoning, argumentation, and creative project-based learning to allow students the chance to develop and strengthen their voices.
