"Hi there, I'm Aniruth! I'm currently starting medical school at Dartmouth's Geisel School of Medicine. Before that, I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelors in Computer Engineering and a minor is Mathematics. I took the MCAT as an undergraduate and scored a 515 (91st percentile) on my first attempt. My best section was the Chem/Phys section where I scored in the 96th percentile. As a tutor I'm excited about helping students achieve their goals and feel more confident in their own abilities and hard work.
Most parts of being a premed student are challenging. With the MCAT, I hope to provide students with the study strategies and insights that I developed after months of studying and streamline the process to getting their goal score. So far I have helped one student score within the top 3 percentile on all official AAMC practice exams. I believe students thrive when they feel comfortable making mistakes and, even more importantly, are able to look at their mistakes non-judgmentally and analytically. Essay writing is a critically important part of the med-school application, but an often overlooked one. I believe my essays were one of strongest points in my application permitting me to gain acceptance offers from several medical schools. I hope to help students present their personal statements in a way that's more powerful and authentic.
I have a variety of teaching experiences and I'm passionate about leveraging education as a tool to help students succeed. I taught a programming class for Chicago public high school students using a curriculum I designed myself. For two years I was a physics TA (teaching assistant) for multiple section of physics lab, helping students convert abstract and confusing concepts from the classroom into concrete and tangible understanding in the real world. As a tutor, I focus on the student and their unique needs, tailoring my approach to identity and target a student's specific weakness and work with the student to develop a plan to turn those weaknesses into strengths." less...
