"Greetings to you all! My name is Almavida and I am a multiple subject credentialed teacher. Passionate and innovative are adjectives that would precisely describe me as an educator. I have taught in both public and private sectors throughout Los Angeles County, mainly in the underserved Black and Latino communities as well as online platforms.

I have been teaching for about two decades and have extensive experience in the field of education. Teaching is all I know. My hands have been tried at every grade level ranging from Transitional Kindergarten to young adults. This also includes children with special needs. Additionally, I recently obtained a Master of Arts in Teaching from Biola University, which further expanded my pedagogical knowledge and cultural awareness of children in the special needs population.

As it pertains to teaching methodologies, I am extremely fond of incorporating the Visual and Performing Arts in all my lessons and will invest great effort into creatively finding multiple ways to make my teaching desirable to students. Therefore, it is not unusual for me to be seen using puppets to make real life connections or request that students sing or act, in lieu of a lengthy written summary. Consequently, I possess an eclectic style of relaying content and will never hesitate to implement humor. These skills and qualities are vital in the art of shepherding students from mundanity to magnificence in our world of education.
