"I love teaching and tutoring. That's why I am here.

After earning the #1 ranking in a national math competition, I attended Princeton University. While studying at Princeton, I became a popular math tutor for local high school and college students. I also co-founded the Princeton Tutoring Group with three other tutors. I helped my students not only improve their math scores but also develop a deeper interest in math. Some of them later chose math or IT as their major or career path (references available upon request). Making a positive impact gave me a great sense of accomplishment.

After graduating from Princeton with a Ph.D. in Math, I was hired as an Adjunct Professor in the Math Department at Rider University in NJ for one year before transitioning to the IT industry. I have worked as a Data Engineer, Data Analyst, BI Developer, and Data Scientist. Despite my professional commitments, I have always maintained my passion for teaching and tutoring, dedicating my part-time hours to teaching classes or tutoring students (both 1-on-1 and group lessons). I pioneered the HOPT (Hands-on Project Training) methodology and founded a training school in Toronto based on this approach, where I taught both adults and high school/college students in IT and Math. (Some newspaper articles about HOPT are available upon request.) Due to my HOPT training methodology and my experience in managing a training business and developing course curricula, Peking University hired me for two years to teach a variety of IT and Mathematics courses in Beijing.

When teaching Math, I always engage my students in active participation and learning, focusing on developing their mathematical mindset and problem-solving abilities. When teaching IT and Data Analytics, I follow HOPT, keeping my students hands-on and guiding them to learn by doing. This is the most effective way to learn and master a skill." less...
