"I am passionate about mathematics and data analytics, and love teaching and tutoring—that is why I am here: to share this passion with you.
I earned my undergraduate degree in Computer Science. After achieving a #1 ranking in a national mathematics competition, I continued on to Princeton University, where I obtained a Ph.D. in Mathematics. During my time at Princeton, I became a highly sought-after math tutor for local high school and college students and co-founded the Princeton Tutoring Group with three fellow tutors. I strive to inspire students’ curiosity and interest in mathematics while training their mathematical mindset, so they not only learn math but also learn how to think mathematically. Many of my students have gone on to pursue majors and careers in mathematics and technology (references available upon request).
After graduating from Princeton, I served as an Adjunct Professor at Rider University, where I taught and conducted academic research before transitioning into the IT industry. Since then, I have worked as a Data Engineer, Data Analyst, BI Developer, and Data Scientist. Despite a demanding professional schedule, I have consistently continued teaching and tutoring part-time, both in one-on-one and classroom settings. I also pioneered the HOPT (Hands-on Project Training) methodology and founded a training school based on this approach, which proved to be highly effective and productive (newspaper articles available upon request).
I am bilingual (English & Chinese). My teaching philosophy emphasizes active engagement and deep understanding rather than passive learning. I focus on developing students’ mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills. Under my guidance, many students have achieved top honors in prestigious competitions such as the AMC, AIME, USAMO, CMO, and the Putnam Exam." less...
