"Hello! My name is Theresa H and I am an all-level science and mathematics tutor. Currently, I am on a Fulbright fellowship doing research in Australia (January 2026). After, I will be starting a PhD program, having finishing my Masters in Bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania. My passion for tutoring started in my undergraduate career at Haverford College where I was head peer tutor and a Chemistry TA. Having tutored since I was in high school, I have found that in teaching others I am constantly learning myself. My philosophy revolves around building confidence and promoting independence in the student’s approach to classwork and exams. Understanding is more important than just getting the right answer.

In college, I was a student athlete, playing goalkeeper for the women’s soccer team all 4 years and the track and field team my senior year. Balancing school with extracurriculars is something I try to teach my students. It also means I am very aware of how hectic a schedule can get and allow for flexibility in sessions. Outside of academics, you can find me on the roads training for my next marathon or at the movie theater watching a new release. We will have open communication and work together.
