"I’m an experienced educator with over 25 years of teaching learners of all ages—from early childhood through graduate school and adult education. I’ve worked in a variety of educational settings, including one-on-one tutoring, small group instruction, afterschool enrichment programs, professional development workshops, and college-level courses. I hold a doctorate in Education from Columbia University's Teachers College and am passionate about creating inclusive, engaging, and student-centered learning environments. I’ve worked with diverse student populations and learning styles, and I specialize in helping learners build confidence, develop critical thinking skills, and achieve academic success across a range of subjects.

Over the years, I’ve supported students in areas such as reading and writing, organization and study skills, college admissions prep, and critical thinking. I believe in creating a warm, supportive space where students feel heard and understood. I incorporate active listening, encouragement, and guided inquiry into my sessions, helping students build both confidence and independence. My teaching style is flexible and student-centered—I meet each learner where they are and help them move forward with clarity and purpose.

I’ve worked with neurodiverse learners, English language learners, and students with a wide range of learning styles. My goal is always to foster meaningful learning experiences that go beyond just completing assignments. I want my students to feel capable and inspired. Whether I’m helping a second grader strengthen foundational skills or coaching a high school student through an essay or college application, I bring patience, experience, and a genuine love of learning to every session." less...
