"My name is Garv B. and I am a rising junior at Brown University studying Applied Mathematics - Biology. Studying the intersection of math and biology has given me the unique privilege to utilize mathematical tools to model our bodily systems. What I believe qualifies me to be a SAT tutor, and math tutor in general, is my very extensive history of taking standardized tests in math and various other subjects. I have taken 13 AP exams in high school (earning ten 5s and three 4s including two 5s in both AP Calculus AB and BC), scored a 1580 on the SAT (Verbal: 780, Math : 800), and am currently studying for the MCAT (medical college admissions exam). Through these experiences I have realized that standardized testing not only tests one's understanding of a subject, but is also an exercise in resilience. The people who are successful are more often than not the ones who are willing to put in their 100% even on days where they feel dejected and unmotivated. That being said, I know how difficult it can be to stay motivated, especially when progress feels slow or if you're repeatedly getting stuck on concepts that just won’t click.
