"Hi! My name is Daniel and I am currently pursuing my PhD in mathematics at UCSD. I did my undergraduate at Columbia University where I also majored in mathematics. While at UCSD I had the opportunity to be a Teacher's Assistant and Lecturer for a wide range of college courses, including all levels of calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations. One of the biggest obstacles to success in mathematics is a lack of confidence and intimidation by the material. I have seen this in many students and experienced it myself. I believe with patience, guidance, and encouragement, all students can achieve exceptional success. Learning math should be fun and exciting and I hope I can convey that in my lessons!

I also am available to tutor several subjects outside of mathematics (mainly statistics and physics) as well as provide test and essay preparation. I have prepared for the GMAT and SAT and can help you improve your test-taking technique (I scored in the 99th percentile for both Math and Verbal). I can also help with extracurricular math and enrichment programs such as the Olympiad and Math/Science Fair. My experiences doing extracurricular math in high school helped me significantly in the college application process.
