"My name is Dan, and I am a full-ride second year medical student at Weill Cornell who is eager to share insights with younger students pursuing careers in science and medicine. I scored a 519 on my MCAT, missing only 1 point across the two natural science sections. My application yielded 17 interview invites from MD programs and 7 acceptances from multiple Ivy League schools and other top institutions around the country.

I graduated cum laude from Bates College with a degree in Chemistry and having completed all of the pre-medical requirements. During my time at Bates I served as a teaching assistant for the Chemistry and Biology departments, specifically in Organic Chemistry and Cellular Biology. I conducted Organic Chemistry research for 2 years in completion of my undergraduate thesis, which led to my nomination for Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Honor Society.

After graduating from Bates, I worked as the lead research assistant for three years where I further developed my knowledge in cellular biology and protein biochemistry and mentored and trained younger students.
