"I'm Ethan W. and I am a graduate of Cornell University with a B.S. in Biology. I am currently working in clinical research at a Tier 1 U.S. medical school while applying to medical school myself. I have a passion for teaching, and have served in a number of roles that have given me experience and allowed me to develop my teaching style. I laud myself on having a knack for making complex topics feel simple, while building towards a deeper understanding of the material.
I first earned tutoring experience by acting as a private tutor starting in my sophomore year of high-school and continuing through my senior year.
During my senior year of high-school, I also started working at a private Math tutoring center and tutored students from first grade through 12th grade in topics such as algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, and calculus. As a college student, I have served for 4 semesters as a Teaching Assistant in a 3000-level Biochemistry course open to undergraduate and graduate students at Cornell University. I have taken and excelled at (maintaining a >4.0 GPA at Cornell University) a variety of courses in the sciences, including: general chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, biochemistry, general/developmental/anatomical biology courses. In preparing to take the MCAT, I myself have reviewed and further deepened my comprehension in a broad array of science topics, including those mentioned above as well as physics and critical analysis/reading comprehension.
I love teaching and helping others learn; some of my favorite moments as a tutor have come from the sense of accomplishment and relief that has come to students that I have tutored in the past after conquering a challenging concept. I believe my past experiences in teaching and comprehensive education at a world-class university make me a highly qualified tutor." less...
