"I graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Environmental Sciences as a Distinguished Major. I am currently an MD/PhD candidate in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology through the NIH-funded Medical Scientist Training Program (T32 MSTP) at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. My research in renal, cardiovascular, and developmental biology has been nationally recognized through awards and presentations from the American Heart Association, the American Physiological Society, and the American Society of Nephrology. I’ve also published first-author papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and continue to present my work at national conferences.
My tutoring experience spans a wide age range—from elementary students exploring science for the first time to post-baccalaureate students preparing for medical school and advanced degrees. I’ve mentored students one-on-one in academic subjects and laboratory research, including data analysis, experimental design, and scientific writing. I have helped students succeed in Biology, environmental science, physiology, molecular biology, and biochemistry, as well as with standardized test prep (AP/SAT) and college/premed/graduate application coaching. I also support students working on research projects or lab reports, and I’m comfortable teaching skills in histology, qPCR analysis, microscopy, and interpreting primary literature.
My sessions are goal-oriented, flexible, highly personalized, and built around a student's learning style and goals. I prioritize critical thinking, creativity, and clarity, whether we’re reviewing basic cell biology or anatomy or walking through advanced research methods. My goal is not just to help students pass an exam but to help them think like scientists and medical professionals, building lasting academic confidence. I also love motivating passion for science in younger students.
If you believe we could be a good fit, I’d be happy to meet with you." less...
