"Hello! I am Ashrith, a sophomore at Johns Hopkins University majoring in Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science. I took the SAT three years ago, in the fall of 2022, and therefore have an up-to-date understanding of the types of questions asked on the exam and the best methods to tackle them. With a score of 1590 on the SAT and 1490 on my PSAT, I possess the necessary expertise and experience to answer any questions you may have and demonstrate problem-solving strategies.
From my observations, the most common mistake students make when attempting to solve exam problems is lacking the confidence that they already possess all the necessary skills to solve it. The problems typically involve applying critical thinking skills that are already in their repertoire, yet they appear uncertain about how to execute them. As a tutor, I aim to assist you in building that self-confidence, allowing you to feel well-prepared on exam day.
As a learning assistant at Hopkins for General Physics I and II, I have ample experience helping students apply the concepts they Iearn during lectures to solve problems. have previously tutored high school students through the Science National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta, the mathematics honor society. Additionally, I have extensive informal tutoring experience assisting my peers in various classes, including Calculus, Linear Algebra/Differential Equations, Probability and Statistics, and Physics, among others. I have observed that students derive the most benefit from receiving step-by-step guidance to build intuition, followed by many practice problems to reinforce their learning. I am eager to take on more students to help them excel in classes and on exams. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you are interested." less...
