"Hello! My name is Lynn, and I believe that every student has unique strengths and talents as well as the ability to grow and learn. I graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor’s degree in History, earned my Master’s in Education and school counseling credential from San Jose State, and hold a K-6 teaching credential from National University. I have been teaching grades 1-6 for over 20 years and tutoring students ages 6 to 12 for more than 10 years in math, reading, writing, and English learning, both one-on-one and in small groups.

My approach to tutoring is student-centered and results-oriented. I take time to build a positive rapport with each child so they feel comfortable, confident, and motivated to learn. I customize instruction to meet their individual needs and celebrate their progress along the way, whether it’s mastering math facts, growing as a writer, or strengthening reading comprehension. As a teacher with a school counseling background, I understand how emotions, confidence, and external challenges can impact learning, and I support my students holistically to help them thrive.

One of my proudest moments as an educator was when my evaluator told me he would be delighted if his own child had a teacher like me. As a parent myself, I have always believed in treating my students the way I would want my own children to be treated – with patience, respect, high expectations, and genuine care.
