"Mr. M. is finishing his PhD in teaching, learning, and sociocultural studies with a focus in science teaching and teacher education at the University of Arizona. He spent 16 years as a high school science teacher in Wisconsin before moving to his family of six to Tucson, AZ. For the majority of those 16 years, he taught integrated physical science for first and second year high school students, but he is certified in biology, chemistry, and physics in addition to general science. Mr. M. also served as the class advisor for first year high school students for many years and has coached football, wrestling, fastpitch softball, volleyball, and basketball. He currently runs a youth wrestling club in Tucson and works as a wrestling official around the country.

Finding engaging and relevant ways to address those gaps is his chief motivation for pursuing a career as a tutor and educator in higher education.
Mr. M. has a Bachelor of Science degree in broad field science with a minor in biology. He is also a trained professional educator with many years of experience teaching all fields of science as well as preparing future elementary and middle school science teachers. He has spent the last five years researching what works well in science education for all students. In addition to his professional teaching career, he has worked in informal science education, tutoring, and mentoring programs with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, 4-H, and Scouts BSA.
Mr. M. wants to help you find science enjoyable and worthwhile so that you can experience success in lifelong science learning. He uses research-based stra" less...
