"Hello! My name is Jodie P. and I am a Kindergarten teacher at a charter school here in Rochester, NY. I have 8 years of previous experience before this school in UPK and Pre-K teacher experience and enjoy working with Pre-K thru 3rd grade students.

My time working with kiddos has been an amazing career choice and I couldn't imagine myself doing anything else in life. I was meant to be working with children and have 4 of my own so I truly spend 24/7 with kids! :)

I do not have school degrees in ASD however ASD children have always held a special place in my heart as I feel I have a special way of identifying their triggers and joy factors to help them learn and grow.

I taught in a 6th grade self contained 3/2 classroom (yes, 3 students and 2 teachers) with aggressive tendencies and non verbal ASD students and learned so much about the culture and community and thoroughly enjoyed my placement.

Another passion of mine is intermediate ASL. I am a hearing person who is conversationally fluent in spoken English and some ASL format signs.
