"Hi! I wasn’t very strong in math in middle school or even the beginning of high school. I struggled and felt lost in math class. But then I had a wonderful teacher who was patient and kind, and things turned around for me! I went on to go to engineering school and then got my Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Math Education! Later I earned my Master’s degree from Teachers College at Ivy League Columbia University.

I taught math in the classroom for most of 1999-2014, in every class from 6th grade math through college level math classes. I most recently taught at The University of Chicago Laboratory Schools and left when I was pregnant with my son. I now stay home with my two children and tutor part time. I specialize in building students’ confidence in math! I tutor over zoom which allows for lots of flexibility in scheduling: some students have weekly scheduled sessions, and some text me to schedule a shorter or last-minute session! My approach is friendly and encouraging, with just the right balance of challenge. I am currently tutoring Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Pre-Calculus.
