"Hi, I'm Sonja! I graduated as the valedictorian of my high school, having taken 12 Advanced Placement college classes. Throughout high school, I realized how important it is to be able to teach other people; not only is it a method of reinforcing your own learning, but it is also amazing to interact with other people and share your knowledge with them. In middle school I helped teach kindergarten through sixth graders Spanish with the Spanish Enrichment program. Since middle school and through high school, I have tutored students through school programs, helping with Spanish, math, science, English, and social studies. As a tutor, and still a college student myself, I want to be able to help anyone who is struggling with a topic because I know that if I am struggling I want to get help understanding so that I am not left behind confused. However I tutor will depend on each individual I am with because I know everybody learns in different ways and I want to create the best tutoring environment for whomever I am tutoring.

I love tutoring because not only do I have a chance to teach what I know, but I learn from every tutoring experience as well. I love helping people, but I know through each unique interaction and challenge I will learn from these people. As a tutor, I get to be a part of someone's life and support them through even just a single challenge, and each experience is deeply enriching as we get to share knowledge and simple human experiences as well. I believe that teachers and tutors are resources for students to learn in addition to being an additional support system. It is of the utmost importance to me that I am being supportive and kind and compassionate and patient and attentive. I am here for you in whatever way you need.
