"Hello! My name is Kristin and I graduated Magna Cum Laude from UC San Diego with my Bachelors of Science degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. I also triple-minored in Business, Economics, and History. Most recently, I took the MCAT in April 2025 and scored in the 94th percentile with a 517.

Throughout high school and university, I gained extensive experience as a tutor and TA in supporting my peers and other students in various subjects, including Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, several branches of biology, general chemistry, and biochemistry. Each time, I have found the experience to be incredibly rewarding. Not only do I get to help other students increase their confidence and achieve their academic goals, but I also have the opportunity to gain further insight into what works as an effective learning method.

In terms of my tutoring style, I'm an advocate of active learning and fostering a comfortable environment for the student to learn. To promote this, I create visuals and will sometimes curate practice problems and custom-make study sheets for my students. I constantly ask if the student understands what I just explained, and I always encourage asking questions!
