My tutoring experience has been reserved to those who I am fortunate enough to know personally.

I am an outstanding English teacher because I have been an avid reader all my life and can communicate my knowledge of the English language. The variety and profligacy and shadings of the written word are exciting and one wishes to share that feeling and expose young people to that thrill. I purposely went to graduate school to take American literature courses because I felt my undergraduate study is this field was lacking.

I grew up on American history as my father was a high school social studies teacher and I was exposed to it from an early age. Instead of rebelling from my father's interests I embraced them and never regretted it. It is a lifetime subject and my enthusiasm and excitement for the past will never wane.

I have been devoted to health and fitness issues for many years. I am a long-time long-distance runner with over thirty marathons. I am also vegetarian though I choose not to proselytize or accentuate it. I am knowledgeable about nutrition as well as sports injuries. In these days of growing obesity in our young people I feel it's important to help fuel the conversation about a lifelong commitment to good health. Goodness knows there are enough outside health influences without impinging or harming ourselves by poor choices.

After graduating college and attaining my BA degree I proceeded to take post-graduate courses in education to enable me to be certified and teach in the New York City public school system. I became certified to teach K - 6 and indeed taught second grade for several years.
