"With over 20 years of student-centered instruction, my philosophy is helping students feel that they belong as they take ownership of their learning. I have a PhD in history, MA in Asian Studies, and a BS in Classical studies. I not only have experience tutoring individuals, but also taught at the high school and college levels. I have a secondary teaching certificate in California and Ohio.

I have taught classes in Asian History, Chinese History, US History, Ancient History, Roman History, World History, English, Academic Writing, Comparative Religions, Buddhism, Art History, Humanities, and ESL. I can tutor Latin, Classical Chinese, Middle Egyptian (Hieroglyphs). I also have experience as a professional musician and can teach music theory (jazz) and bass performance. I am available to tutor in person and online. My core belief is fostering curiosity so the student becomes a lifelong learner. We work on building confidence, tailoring lessons to take advantage of individual students learning styles, while also strengthening areas outside one's comfort zone.
