I have 14 years of experience teaching Latin in public and private schools, from middle school through college level.
As for my tutoring methods, the student's needs and interests come first. We can do straight grammar practice, conversational Latin, or poetry memorization. Unless the dictates of a class prevent it, I rely heavily on reading Latin passages for fluency. Just as you become a better reader by re-reading in English, you can improve your Latin by re-reading sentences, paragraphs and stories in the language. If you need to improve your Latin grammar, we'll concentrate on that--in context as well as in charts.
Honestly, if little Roman babies could learn Latin, so can you.
