I have an MS degree in Electrical Engineering, with focus on Mixed Signal IC designing, from San Jose State University. I also have a BS degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur - a university that is known widely for a tough joint entrance examination, testing students on their understanding of the fundamental concepts of physics, chemistry, and mathematics.

Ever since I received my baccalaureate degree in 1996, I have been working in the semiconductor industry as an R&D developer of complex software. At work, I have to apply not only the skills of an electrical engineer and a computer scientist, but also the principles of advanced physics and mathematics. While working, I did my masters in parallel. In summary, I have been hands-on in the aforementioned subjects.

As a student, I loved solving problems in physics and mathematics. It used to feel immense joy, and get a sense of accomplishment, after being able to solve a problem that posed as a challenge to me. I want to share this joy with the aspiring students, who may be in high schools, or in undergrad colleges. My mission is to make them self reliant in the subjects I teach, and to make the learning experience a wonderful ride for them.

I love to work with my students to identify the basic challenges they are facing. I help them develop a solid understanding by explaining the concepts and solving problems with them, at a level that is easy for them to grasp. I always encourage my students to ask a lot of questions. In stead of imposing my own solution, I encourage them to come up with their own ways of solving problems, and then assist them in finding gaps in their solution, and finally build a full fledged solution, filling in the missing concepts, if needed.

I have tutored both and one-on-one in person. But I feel that there is no substitute for a face-to-face interaction between the tutor and the student. Thanks WyzAnt for fostering this great idea.
