"Hey! I’m a junior college student majoring in math and education, and I’ve been tutoring students in math for over five years. I started by volunteering to help high school students and later expanded to learners from kindergarten through 12th grade. I’ve taught in one-on-one sessions, small groups, and classrooms. Right now, I help teach a 7th grade remedial math class and work with elementary and middle school students through volunteer programs. I also assist fellow college students with their math courses. I’m licensed to work as an assistant teacher in public schools and plan to earn my substitute teaching license within the next academic year. I graduated high school with a 4.0 GPA and earned a 35 on the math portion of the ACT.
Over the last five years, I’ve worked with students in subjects like Elementary Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Calculus AB and BC. I’ve helped students raise their test scores and gain confidence in these subjects. Specifically, I have significant experience tutoring Calculus to high schoolers and have helped hundreds of students earn 4s and 5s on their AP exams. I’m comfortable working with students at any level—whether they’re catching up, keeping up, or moving ahead. My approach is centered on meeting students where they are, moving at their pace, and explaining concepts in different ways until something clicks. I focus on the “why” behind the math, not just the steps, and connect topics to build long-term understanding.
As a current student, I understand how challenging math can feel—but also how rewarding it is when it finally makes sense. I strive to connect with students not just as a tutor, but as someone who’s been in their shoes. I’m here to create a supportive, low-pressure space where students feel comfortable, confident, and ready to grow." less...
