"Hi, I’m Karin! I’m a medical student at the University of Washington School of Medicine with a Bachelor of Science in Cell Biology & Neuroscience and a Master of Science in Health Sciences.
I have extensive experience teaching Anatomy and Physiology. During my undergraduate and graduate studies, I assisted in anatomy labs, led review sessions, and later served as a teaching assistant for advanced undergraduate anatomy and cellular biology courses. In these roles, I created lesson plans, guided students through complex lab material, and held weekly office hours to answer questions in depth. These experiences taught me how to take challenging material and explain it in clear, approachable steps, helping students feel more confident and prepared for exams.
As a medical student, I also enjoy mentoring pre-medical students through the application process. Having gone through it myself, I can provide guidance on writing personal statements, framing extracurricular experiences, and strengthening secondary essays so applications reflect each student’s unique strengths.
I work with students from high school through college and adapt each lesson to their learning style. Whether you’re tackling anatomy, general biology, or preparing for pre-med applications, my goal is to make the material understandable, engaging, and memorable so you can succeed in your courses and beyond.
Before our first lesson, I offer a free 20-minute consultation call where we can discuss your goals and challenges. I look forward to supporting your academic journey." less...
