"Dear Parents and Students,

I like to think of myself as a student's choice tutor. Students learn better when they enjoy the environment and instructor. Student accomplishment is important for the student to not only learn, but grow beyond by improving their thinking skills and learning methods. It's the whole student concept focused on learning.

I have taught ROTC at college, substituted in High School, Middle School and Elementary School. I received my teaching certification in K-6 in Texas and now live in Huntsville, Alabama.

I understand a well-rounded student allows for growth and learning at age-appropriate and age-skilled level. Being a good student in all subjects helps develop good study skills and learning habits. Learning is a life-long skill. Learning how to study, how to train your mind and body to be the best you can be, but enjoying the time is the most valuable experience. I will make you work hard, but you will enjoy the time, effort and results you get out of it.

I am good at math, but I listen to and understand the student. There are many ways to solve a problem, helping the student figure out their way is the best.

History, Social Studies and government are testable items, but the how and why explain the details of the environment. Students who understand what happened, how and why are more appreciative and learn with passion.

I was an athlete through HS and college, and still hold a college school record. Training through multiple sports takes time, energy and focus. This is part of the whole student/athlete development. Most games, events and contests are won before the athlete arrives at the venue, it is won through practice. I am not a win-at-all-cost person.
