"I believe that teachers and caregivers set the foundation of a child's approach towards learning. When a child feels safe, valued and inspired, a child is eager to learn. I am passionate about creating an environment where children are engaged and inspired, and I work closely with parents and caregivers to build strategies that are optimal for the family.

I earned my Master's in Early Childhood General and Special Education from Bank Street College of Education in New York City and spent a decade as a Special Education Itinerant Teacher in New York City, where I worked one-on-one with students with a wide range of special needs in their homes and in their schools. I have also served as a classroom teacher in several schools in New York and California.
In 2022, I completed my post-graduate certificate in Educational Therapy. I now work full time doing academic intervention and educational therapy. I love the intimacy of working one to one with each student and family!
I use an Orton Gillingham base for phonics intervention, and adapt to meet the needs and interests of the student. I also have received training in Lindamood Bell, Making Math Real and Saxon Math. I pull from a combination of strategies to fit the needs of each student and make learning fun.
I would be thrilled to speak with you about what your student is struggling with and will collaborate with you, your child’s teachers, and any other therapists or caregivers to create an optimal learning plan.
As a complement to my teaching experience, my background in acting and improvisation has honed my ability to create fun and engaging learning environments and to respond creatively in challenging situations.
Please note that I travel to homes and schools in the morning and early afternoon. However, after 2 PM I see students in my office in Sawtelle." less...
