"I have been a registered nurse for 15 years, 10 of which have been in the field of obstetrics. I have taught across a large age range from young teenagers to adulthood. My teaching journey really started as a labor and delivery nurse- teaching families about the labor process and the best ways to manage labor. This role also included family education for postpartum care and safety of the newborn. From there, I evolved into becoming a childbirth educator and then into my current full-time position which is a clinical nurse educator. In this role, I am responsible for creating and executing onboarding processes, training programs, and annual education requirements. Education is truly a passion, perhaps even a calling of mine. I am in the process of pursuing a master’s degree in nursing education. One of my motto’s is “meet them where they are at” which, to me, means to find out the learner’s goals, and collectively come up with a plan to help you achieve them.
