"Thank you for this opportunity for me to hopefully help students reach their educational goals and success! I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Sociology with a Business Administration minor at the University of Arizona (UA). Alongside my studies, I work as a Business Coordinator for the UA English Department.

Before joining the University of Arizona, I worked for Pima Community College as an English, Writing and English as a Second Language Tutor for approximately two years. I also held an administrative role for Pima JTED – Joint Technical Education District.

My passion has always been rooted in education – whether it would be in the classroom or in administration. I find such fulfillment in helping students gain the confidence in their abilities, overcome challenges and succeed academically.

The reason why I am applying to be a tutor with Wyzant is because I’m excited for the opportunity to return to one-on-one instruction and support students. My approach to tutoring is with empathy, patience and reassurance. I feel the best way to help someone understand the content or lesson is through acknowledging their successes and asking where their confusion is and working from that. I believe my background in tutoring along with my academic and administrative experience, makes me well-equipped to guide students toward their learning goals.
