I’ve been part of the D/deaf and Hard of Hearing community since 2005, with experience interpreting in a variety of settings across Florida and Georgia. I am a licensed Educational Interpreter and Teacher for the Deaf.
In addition to interpreting, I work closely with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students as a Teacher of the Deaf in the classroom and one-on-one settings. I’ve supported students from elementary through high school, including those with autism, language deprivation, and other learning challenges. My role often involves modifying content, pre-teaching concepts, and reinforcing academic language to promote understanding and confidence.
My tutoring style is patient, direct, and empowering. I don’t “baby” students—I teach, then guide them to apply what they’ve learned independently. I use a lot of visual examples, real-world connections, and my own reference materials to support learning. I believe all students can succeed when given access, support, and high expectations. Whether a student is Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or just needs a little extra help, I’m committed to helping them thrive!" less...
