"Hi! I’m Shikara, a licensed elementary teacher currently teaching 3rd grade. I work with 2nd–5th grade students who feel confused, frustrated, or overwhelmed by reading or math—and I help them build confidence, clarity, and real academic progress.

My sessions are calm, structured, and encouraging, with a strong focus on grade-level skills and benchmarks so students know exactly what they’re working toward.

I have experience tutoring students one-on-one and in small groups, both virtually and in person. My instruction is structured and intentional, while still meeting students where they are. I also work with students who have IEPs and 504 plans, adapting each session to support individual needs—whether that means extra time, step-by-step strategies, or additional encouragement.

My goal is for students to leave each session feeling supported, capable, and proud of their progress. Whether we’re working on word problems, reading comprehension, or test prep, I focus on helping students build skills that last.
